Metail launches cherwears.com

New York - British firm Metail, which specializes in online fitting technology, has announced that they will launch an e-commerce site called cherwears.com today. The website is a reference to iconic film character Cher from the movie Clueless, and is also an homage to the other characters Dion, Tai, and Amber. The site will allow shoppers to try on and buy clothes similar to those in the actors' closet.
Fans of the film would remember that Cher had a digital app that allowed her to curate her closet of tartan skirts, cardigans, plaid jackets, and layered tops. Back in 1995, with personal computers just becoming a major thing, such an idea would seem impossible, unless you were a rich girl in Beverly Hills like Cher. Thanks to Metail's MeModel technology, customers can replicate a similar experience with an online avatar and items selected from the Metail team from brands like House of Holland, Little Mistress, Topshop, Oasis, Missguided, Boohoo, ASOS and New Look.
Customers can spend up to as little at 7 dollars and 70 cents on a Boohoo t-shirt or as much as 730 dollars for a House of Holland dress. Metail has managed to make e-commerce far more fun, and who would have thought it would be all thanks to inspiration from a classic 90s teen comedy. It's e-commerce with a much more exciting twist than just clicking away and shopping.
