Outerwear brand Norwegian Rain is to open its first UK standalone store at 193 Piccadilly Street on June 13.

Marking the brand’s first location outside Norway, the 153 square foot store will house the brand’s rainwear for both men and women, including its signature piece the Raincho, and its new collaborations with British footwear brand Grenson and UK designer Ally Capellino, which are set to drop later this year for autumn/winter 2016.

The store will also carry suiting, shoes and leather goods from T- Michael as well as a curated selection of Scandinavian mid-century furniture by Modern Tribute.

In a statement the brand confirmed that the location on London’s Piccadilly underneath Bafta House was chosen for its close proximity to Saville Row, Jermyn Street and Old Bond Street. Plus as the store will sell both its men’s and women’s collections they felt it was the “perfect environment” to introduce the brand to the UK market as well as the international tourist.

Established in 2009 in Bergen, Norway, the rainiest city of Europe, Norwegian Rain has become known for is sartorial take on extreme, high-performance outerwear, inspired by Japanese sensibility, as well as it use of premium fabrics such as recycled polyester.

The outerwear brand currently sells across 120 stores internationally, from Norway to Japan, and in the UK it is stocked in Harvey Nichols.
