Irish designer Orla Keily has closed her business as parent company company Kieran Rowan plc went into administration.

Once the go-to brand for quirky prints in homeware and fashion, Orla Keily had an enviable distribution network and was internationally stocked in the best stores.

'The queen of print,' as Keily was often referred to, closed the brand's stand-alone stores on King's Road and Seven Dials in London as well as its boutique in Kildare in Ireland.

Orla Keily's licensed homeware and design-branded accessories will continue to be sold via its partners.

A message posted on the brand's website, where online trading has also been suspended, said: "Thank you for embracing our brand and designs throughout the years and for your ongoing support."

David Ruben & Partners have been appointed as administrators. According to the Guardian the business entered voluntary liquidation “following various challenges that have faced the company over the past few years, both in the UK and abroad.”
