Paul Smith to open at the Mailbox, Birmingham

Paul Smith is set to open a new store at the newly developed lifestyle and shopping centre in Birmingham, the Mailbox this September.

The 1,634 square foot store, which is slated to open later this month, will stock Paul Smith collections for women and men alongside of a curate selection of shoes, accessories, artwork and the designer’s typical curiosities. The new store will combine both Paul Smith’s DNA, which consists of contrasting classic and contemporary looks and the new premiere shopping centre feel of old and new, rough with smooth.

“Our strategy for the Mailbox has been to bring world-class names to Birmingham, curating an exciting retail mix complimented by a high quality and innovative food and beverage offer,” commented Simon Samuels, Partner at Brockton Capital, joint owners of the Mailbox in a statement. “We know that Paul Smith will be a hugely welcomed addition to our strong and diverse fashion offer.”

Paul Smith Birmingham will offer shoppers a neutral space that also showcases furniture influenced by the Arts and Craft movement, unusual finds and hand selected art pieces. In addition, the new store will also pay tribute to the designer’s first store in Nottingham though a three meter by three meter square inlaid on the shop floor, which mirrors the original dimensions of the store.

“From a giant bright pink box in Los Angeles to a Victorian townhouse with a cast iron facade in London, I always try to come up with totally unique shops, wherever they are in the world,” said Paul Smith on the new store. “What’s lovely about this one is it has a great mix of clothes and accessories for men and women, as well as a few unexpected twists and turns too!”
