Nike and Gap Outlet have both signed deals to become anchor tenants at Resorts World Birmingham, the 150 million pound leisure and entertainment complex.

Owned by Genting UK, the complex will feature around 50 stores, accounting for 100,000 square foot of the total floor space of 450,000 square foot, at the site located at the NEC. As well as retail units the complex will also include a 178 room four star boutique hotel, the Genting Hotel, as well as a casino, bars, restaurants, a Cineworld cinema and an IMAX cinema.

Steve Myers, managing director of development for Genting UK said: “The signing of Gap Outlet and Nike is a significant step towards to the delivery of our vision for the first Resorts World to open in Europe. The scheme is now 70 percent let and we will be announcing further exciting brands that will join us at Resorts World in the coming months.

“Resorts World equates to a direct investment of £150 million into not only the NEC but the West Midlands region by Genting UK. We believe this is the perfect location in which to open a game changing project like this.”

Birmingham is the first Resorts World to be opened outside Asia and the US and joins a family of other resorts located in Singapore, Malaysia, Manila and New York.
