Lifestyle and fashion brand Seasalt is to make its Welsh debut at the St David’s shopping centre in Cardiff, with a regional flagship offering its womenswear range and new footwear collection.

The Cornish brand will open a 1,829 square foot store to showcase their maritime-inspired clothing in the autumn. The store will be located next to Jo Malone and Cath Kidston on Tredegar Street, and will be designed by the brand’s in-house team and will include nautical features to give the consumer a taste of the brand’s Cornish home.

Seasalt co-founder Neil Chadwick said: “We’re delighted to be opening our very first Welsh shop in St David’s as we continue to expand our business. With such a great catchment, the destination was the obvious choice. We’re looking forward to meeting more of our customers and offering them our latest collections, designed in our studios in Falmouth, Cornwall.”

Colin Flinn, regional director at Intu, said: “The addition of Seasalt to the St David’s lineup complements our fantastic and thriving retail offer as we continue to be the destination of choice for national and international retailers looking to expand into Wales. This follows recent debuts from brands such as Michael Kors and Paloma.”

The news follows the recent announcement that Victoria’s Secret is top open in St David’s for its Welsh debut with a 10,000 square foot store on Grand Arcade.

St David’s is anchored by John Lewis, Debenhams and Marks and Spencer and also has 200 other shops and restaurants.
