Shoptiques.com expands to the UK

E-commerce retail platform Shoptiques.com, which houses around 2,000 independent boutiques from the US, France, and Canada has expanded to the UK, adding more than 50 UK independent retailers to its website.
The platform aims to connect customers from around the world with local independent boutiques in one place and offers more than 50,000 products on the site from clothing and accessories to homeware and gifts.
For local boutiques it offers a range of digital tools including email marketing, inventory management, photography, and web hosting to get them online. They also highlight each boutique on the platform with a dedicated page featuring contact details, boutique owner and category areas.
Commenting on the launch, founder and CEO Olga Vidisheva, said: “Launching in the UK is just the beginning of Shoptiques' international expansion. We have a huge opportunity worldwide to connect consumers with unique local stores around the globe.
“I’m personally excited about the expansion because I’ve always loved the UK’s unique fashion sense and the boutiques there.”
The site targets “savvy” shoppers aged between 20 and 50 years old, utilising the fact that the portfolio of stores are diverse that there is something for everyone, with items for “every aesthetic at every price point,” however, the majority of the items priced under 100 dollars.
UK retailers added to the site includes Scarecrow Boutique in Crouch End, London, Daisy Faye in Bromley, and Peak Boutique in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Shoptiques was founded in 2012 and was recently named as one of Forbes' America's Most Promising Companies of 2015. It is funded by Andreessen Horowitz, Greylock, Binary Capital, Benchmark and William Morris Endeavor Talent Agency among others, and it has plans to expand into other major international markets in 2016.
