British accessories designer Sophie Hulme has opened a 355 square foot shop-in-shop in Harrods, located on the department store’s Lower Ground within their Accessories floor.

The luxury department store has carried Sophie Hulme’s collections for more than four years, however, this marks the British designer brand’s first permanent retail space, and forms the “essential blueprint” for future brand interiors.

Architect Edward Swift, husband of Sophie Hulme, led the design of the space, which fuses his interiors and architectural experience with her expertise in product and fashion design, and features white shelves and cabinets, while marble display tables are inlaid with laser cut brass versions of the signature Sophie Hulme charms.

The shop-in-shop launches with worldwide exclusives from the resort 2017 collection, the brand classics, and the designer’s recently launched evening wear collection.

Commenting on the opening, Hulme said: “Launching our first permanent boutique space within Harrods is such an exciting milestone for the brand, and I am delighted to continue our partnership with the iconic luxury retailer who have supported us since our early collections.

“Collaborating with my husband, on the design to define the Sophie Hulme interiors language has been an amazing journey, paving the way for exciting future concepts.”

Harrod's chief merchant Helen David added: “Sophie Hulme’s pop-up last year in Harrods was a brilliant success, and on the back of the growth we have seen with the brand we have now exclusively launched the brand’s first permanent boutique.

“Our customers adore Sophie’s fun and colourful styles and will be excited to discover her latest eveningwear collection alongside the popular mainline collection, all of which will be showcased in our fabulous new bespoke boutique. Having stocked Sophie Hulme since 2012, we’ve seen the incredible evolution the brand has achieved in such a short space of time, and look forward to now unveiling our new boutique and collection to our customers.”

Sophie Hulme creates four collections per year and is carried at more than 230 retail locations across 23 countries.
