If Uniqlo isn't already poised to be the next fast-fashion retail chain to take over the world, they have added a new category to help them along in their conquest. The brand has launched footwear with shoes in two styles, a slip on sneaker and a lace-up sneaker. While the company is based in Japan, the first stores to carry their shoes will actually be in the U.S., South Korea, and China.

There's no denying how much Americans love their sneakers, so, Uniqlo knew what customers would be flocking to stores for their footwear first. The shoes will hit Japanese stores in less than a week on April 27th. French outlets will begin stocking them on June 8th.

Whether the shoes will be available in stores in other countries aside from the several aforementioned ones depends on how well the shoe does in those markets. Uniqlo saw expanding into shoes as the most logical next step in their growth, as they have already expanded into other accessory categories like bags and scarves. The shoes will be at a very accessible price point (around 25 dollars), and will come in five colors.

In addition to being affordable, the shoes are also very comfortable. They feature cushioning to absorb shock, and rubber soles for good traction. Forever 21 and H&M should stay on their toes, because it looks like Uniqlo will be catching up to them as a fierce competitor.
