British luxury high street retailer Whistles is set to open two stores in the Middle East in partnership with the Al Tayer Group, with the first opening at Dubai City Walk 2 and the second, expected to debut in Doha Festival City early next year.
The contemporary fashion brand’s debut Middle East store in Dubai spans 1,100 square foot and houses the retailer’s men’s and womenswear collections, as well as footwear and accessories.
The store has been designed to celebrate the “modern craft” of the brand’s contemporary and effortless style, with white powder coated wall fixtures, handmade terrazzo stone and marble tables and plinths, and a modern grey polished concrete floor.
Commenting on the opening, Whistles chief executive Jane Shepherdson said: "We are very excited to be opening a Whistles store in Dubai with Al Tayer. We hope to introduce many new customers to the brand, and welcome our existing customers to our wonderful new store in City Walk.”
Al Tayer Group senior vice president of lifestyle, Richard Peace added: “We are delighted to be bringing Whistles to the Middle East. It is an accessible brand that promises to appeal to women and men in their everyday lives.
“City Walk provides an ideal home for this introduction, forming one of many significant developments underway in Dubai, which serve to strengthen its position as a cultural, commercial and tourism leader.”
The Al Tayer Group is also responsible for opening and operating the largest Harvey Nichols outside the United Kingdom as well as the first Bloomingdale’s stores outside the United States. In addition, its portfolio in the Middle East includes Gap and Banana Republic. The group also has joint ventures with Bulgari, Ermenegildo Zegna, Gucci, Prada and Saint Laurent.
