Yoox Net-a-Porter Group (YNAP) reported record-breaking sales during the Black Friday holiday weekend, with a growth of 50 percent compared to last year. 1 order was placed every 1,4 seconds during the weekend and 1 item sold per second during Cyber Monday, with the best selling item during the period being Sam Edelman suede over the knee-boots at Net-a-Porter.com.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year where reported as the highest and second highest sales days on record for YNAP respectively, with Black Friday sales increasing 82 percent compared to 2014. North America accounted for the greatest share of sales, followed by the UK. During the holiday weekend, North America also achieved the highest sales growth, with a 101 percent increase compared to 2014.
The most mobile store during the period was Yoox.com, with 46 percent of total sales coming from mobile devices. Over 41 percent of transactions completed were carried out via mobile phone over the past 5 days, with Japan being highlighted as the most mobile country with 48 percent of total sales coming from mobile device. Italy was the most mobile country in Europe, with 54 percent of sales coming from smartphones and tablets on Cyber Monday.
