Following Sunday's announcement of the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2018, we are incredibly delighted to share the news that Charlotte Tilbury - makeup artist, entrepreneur and founder of Charlotte Tilbury - will be receiving an MBE for services to the beauty and cosmetics industry.
The honours system, which recognises the achievements of people in public life and their commitment to serving and helping Britain are decided by an honours committee and are awarded in the name of the Queen with approval from the Prime Minister’s office.
A British female entrepreneur and one of the most influential makeup artists of her generation, Charlotte Tilbury has distinguished herself as a true creative visionary and trail-blazer, whose impact on the fashion and beauty industry has been substantial.
Charlotte has had a considerable effect on the way women across the world perceive themselves through the use of makeup and has been responsible for the creation of several iconic beauty styles and trends. For Charlotte, makeup is about enhancing natural beauty, and she believes passionately in empowering and helping women feel better and more confident about themselves.
Working at the forefront of the beauty industry for over two decades Charlotte is held in exceptionally high regard by her industry colleagues for her visionary creativity. She has worked on over 100 Vogue covers and over 400 editorial and advertising campaigns, received numerous personal accolades for her influential work, including: Fashion Creator at the British Fashion Awards, InStyle’s award for Makeup Artist of the Year, and recipient of the everywoman Ambassador Award at the Natwest Everywoman Awards.
Renowned for her skill and endless creativity, as well as her expertise and knowledge as a business entrepreneur, Charlotte established her brand, Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, in 2013 and in little under five years has transformed it into a record-breaking, best-selling makeup brand throughout the UK, USA, Canada, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
