American label Midnight Studios, founded by the young fashion designer Shane Gonzales, has announced another high profile collaboration. Gonzales has designed a capsule collection of T-shirts and sweatshirts featuring the artwork from Sex Pistols’ debut album, “Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols”.
The collection, which will be sold exclusively by Selfridges, is set to launch on June 26 online, and June 27 at Selfridges’ flagship store at Oxford Street, London. A special preview event is to be held at the store the night before, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The pieces were developed by Gonzales in partnership with Bravado, the merchandise and brand management company from Universal Music Group, which holds the rights to Sex Pistols’ music. Prices range between 75 pounds and 220 pounds.
Gonzales, who is 23 years old and launched his fashion label at the age of 19, is best known for the punk and street style elements in his creations. He often collaborates with other brands and artists. Earlier in June, Midnight Studios announced a capsule collection with Converse, comprising two sneakers that appear to be inverted inside out. Gonzales’ list of previous collaborations includes Bauhaus, Off-White, Guess Jeans, Fenty x Puma, and A$AP Rocky’s art collective AWGE.
