Mountain Warehouse to launch women's athletic collection

Outdoor retailer Mountain Warehouse is capitalising on the UK's 6 billion pound sportswear market by launching a new women's athletic clothing brand and opening dedicated stores.

Called Zatki, the collection features 350 items for activities including yoga, running, skiing, dance and swimming, as well as gym wear. Prices for the affordable line range from 5-250 pounds.

Two Zakti stores are opening in London this weekend – in Islington and Chiswick, while the collection is also available online via its own e-commerce site, Retail Week reported.

Mountain Warehouse boss Mark Neale said he hopes to open up to 10 more stores in London and beyond next year, with potential to launch it internationally as well.

The initial investment is 1.5 million pounds.
