Venice International Film Festival 2026 features lingerie looks

The 83rd edition of the Venice International Film Festival took place from September 2 to 12, 2026. Italian lingerie label Intimissimi returned as an official sponsor and outfitted several high-profile models in custom gowns constructed explicitly around visible underpinnings.

For the attendees, the underwear-as-outerwear trend took center stage, blurring the lines between high fashion and intimate apparel. Corsetry, slip dresses and sheer fabrics dominated both the red carpet and the water taxis.

Emilia Schüle in Dior

German actress Emilia Schüle wore a Dior Resort 2027 lace-trimmed ivory slip dress with floral lace panels and a high leg slit. Accessories included a fan-shaped pendant necklace, minimalist sunglasses, and black strappy heeled sandals.

Director Carolina Cavalli wore an archival Giorgio Armani SS08 long lace column gown in nude with a scalloped bra top and crystal details.
