Formal menswear specialist Moss Bros has become the latest high street retailer to create a customer director role, with the hire of retail consultant Debbie Bond.

Bond, former e-commerce director BSkyB and e-commerce consultant at Harrods, has been working for the past five months as a retail consultant for a number of retailers including Tesco, Sainsbury’s and River Island. She starts with Moss Bros on March 14 and will report into chief operating officer Paula Minowa.

The hire of Bond is the latest top board appointment for menswear group Moss Bros, which has been bolstering its management team.

Last month the retailer confirmed that Charles Tyrwhitt finance director Tony Bennett is to join as group finance director in August, replacing Robin Piggott who announced his intention to retire last year. In addition, former Ann Summers managing director Paula Minowa was named chief operating officer and brought in to improve the customer journey across all channels and territories.

Moss Bros creating a customer director role follows a number of other retailers including River Island, who last month promoted marketing director Josie Roscop to the newly created role of customer director and House of Fraser appointed Maddie Melson to the new position of director of customer insight.
