Former VP of global sales and US chief executive of Bally, Mimmo Mariottini has been appointed the new VP global sales at German lifestyle label Porsche Design.

The announcement to boost the fashion brand’s sales department follows the recent appointment of French-Canadian designer Pierre Costin as its new fashion creative director.

Mariottini, who prior to Bally was travel retail director for Bulgari, will lead the global sales for the lifestyle brand, working alongside Karsten von Engeln, chief operating officer of the Porsche Design of America subsidiary.

Commenting on the appointment, Dr. Christian Kurtzke, chief executive of the Porsche Design Group said: "With Mimmo Mariottini, we are excited to win an experienced sales executive, and simultaneously drive the internationalization of our management team. This is a further milestone on the path to positioning the company as a leading lifestyle brand in the area of Designer Sportswear and Accessories for the Global Business Traveler."

The brand is also placing high importance on its timepieces business by expanding its watch sales team with three new appointments, with Thomas Herzog, who worked for brands like Cartier and Breitling, being appointed to develop the brand's international watch wholesale segment.

Alongside Herzog, Oliver Krebs and Henning von Boddien have been brought on to strengthen its domestic sales team in order to expand its position in its home market.

"Porsche Design has fantastic products, now we get our sales up to speed and move the brand forward internationally," added Kurtzke.
