Gant is set to open its debut store Leeds's acclaimed Victoria Gate later this year. The US fashion brand, which recently relaunched its brand image, is set to open a 230 square meter store in the 165 million pound development.
"We are very excited to be opening a new Gant store in the Victoria Gate development," said Fergus Patterson, Managing Director of Gant UK & Ireland. "Leeds featured highly on our acquisition list and the quality of the development itself, along with the presence of other premium brands, made Victoria Gate a compelling proposition."
According to Hammerson, owner and developed behind the retail initiative, Gant decided to launch in Victoria Gate to ensure the brand sits alongside of other premium retailers, such as Hackett London, & Other Stories and the White Company. Set to officially open its door this autumn, Victoria Gate is said to "signify a step change in Leeds' retail, dining and leisure offer," whilst welcoming a number of new retail brands to the region.
"Global retailer, Gant is a welcome addition to the line-up of brands at Victoria Gate and we are delighted that they have chosen this location to build a presence in the North of England," said Robin Dobson, Director Retail Development at Hammerson. "Attracting new brands to Leeds reinforces the perception of the city as a vibrant Northern hub that is on course to become a best in class retail, leisure and dining destination."
