Online fashion retailer Joe Brown is preparing to open its first bricks-and-mortar store in Sheffield’s Meadowhall shopping centre next month.

The debut store opening comes not long after the online and mail-order retailer reported a 30 percent increase in direct sales during its fiscal year to June 30, as the retailer aims to “bring a point of difference” to the high street.

Simon Brown, managing director and founder of Joe Browns believes that in spite of the turbulent landscape faced by British high street retailers, there are still chances for the high street and that now is the right time for the retailer to open its first store.

“Despite online retail booming and many high streets unfortunately struggling, the time is right for us now to take this new opportunity,” said Simon Brown. “We believe the brand will bring a point of difference to the UK high street for free-thinking, spontaneous individuals who want their fashion choices to match their lust for life.”

The 4,000 square foot store has been designed by Dalziel and Pow and will feature a range of apparel and accessories for both women and men. Set to open its doors on November 2, the store’s opening coincides with the 60 million pound redevelopment of Meadowhall.
