Valentine’s Day has arrived early at Selfridges, where a new art installation gives way to an intimate bar where shoppers can mingle, mull over their purchases, or perhaps meet that special someone.

The new Daido Lip Bar is part of the Selfridges State of The Arts initiative, bringing an experiential factor to the shopping Mecca other than products on display, merging digital, visual merchandising, podcasts and creative endeavors for customers to experience Selfridges beyond merchandise.

Created by Japanese artist Daido Moriyama, the six-seater bar pays homage to the actual small-scale bars in Shinjuku’s Golden Gai quarter.

According to Luxury Daily, the miniature installation will see its third and final Daido Lip Bar, after which the bar will be sold for 80,000 pounds.

The retailer will also sell lip prints by the artist for 60,000 pounds.
