Japanese apparel brand Uniqlo is set to open its first store in Denmark in the spring of 2019. It will be located at Strøget, the famous shopping street in the heart of Copenhagen. The new store is set to occupy three levels, which will span over approximately 1,400 square meters.
"We are pleased to be announcing our next phase of growth in Scandinavia with the launch of our first store in Denmark next year”, said Taku Morikawa, Chief Executive Officer of Uniqlo Europe, in a statement published on the company’s website.
Earlier this year, Uniqlo announced its plans to enter the Swedish market, with a shop set to open in Stockholm in Fall 2018. The Japanese retailer will also open its first shop in the Netherlands around the same time.
Denmark is set to become the 9th European country to feature a flagship store by Uniqlo. The company already operates 11 stores in the UK, 25 in France, 29 in Russia, 5 in Germany, 3 in Belgium and 2 in Spain.
