Zapp mobile payment app set to go live with Barclays Pingit this Autumn

Barclays Pingit app is set to be the first service to go live with Zapp's new mobile payment service, set to launch this autumn. Barclays has joined the growing list of retailers, billers and payment providers, including House of Fraser, Shop Direct and Asda, to support the mobile payment service Pay by Bank with Pingit users being the first to use the service from October 2015.

Consumers who use the Pay by Bank app will be able to use Barclays Pingit as one way to complete their transactions, which available on both Android and iPhone, allowing millions of Pingit users across the country to make mobile payments at a number of major retailers from launch. As

Barclays Pingit is free for anyone to use, whether they have a Barclays account or not, all consumers will be able to make Pay by Bank app payments as long as they have a valid UK bank or building society account and a smartphone with a UK-registered number.

Due to the addition of payments through the Pingit app, Zapp's upcoming Pay by Bank app will be the UK's first total market mobile payment solution that is available to all consumers regardless of who they bank with, or what brand of smartphone they use.
