The 74 square metre airside space was designed with interior design studio Four-by-Two and takes its cues from the gilt edges of the brand's notebooks and diaries, using sculptural forms and metallic detailing across the shopfront and interior. Smythson first opened at Heathrow in 1996.

The store carries the full Smythson range, covering travel bags, homeware, games, leather accessories, stationery, notebooks and diaries. The design team has selected travel accessories including the Multi-Zip Case, Passport Cover and Luggage Tag in colourways chosen for Heathrow.

A gold-stamping station allows customers to watch their purchases personalised with initials or a motif. Alongside the brand's in-house fonts and motifs, the store introduces a set of stamps based on vintage passport designs that will be sold only at Terminal 5.
